ADNet – A national network

The Australian Dementia Network (ADNet) is a national collaboration to boost research into dementia.

The Australian Dementia Network (ADNet) is a national collaboration to boost research into dementia and has brought together Australia’s leading researchers, clinicians and consumers to create a powerful network for dementia prevention, treatment and care. Professor Ralph Martins AO is the chief investigator for ADNet.

ADNet was initiated in 2018 with a $18million grant from the Boosting Dementia Research Initiative (BDRI), an Australian Government investment. ADNeT has developed a network of leading scientists and researchers from across 17 institutions, supported by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), The Wicking Trust, The Yulgilbar Foundation, and Dementia Australia. The three core aims of ADNeT are to:

  • establish a Clinical Quality Registry of people diagnosed with dementia and mild cognitive impairment in order to track, benchmark, and report on the clinical care of people with dementia
  • establish a collaborative network of clinicians conducting high-quality dementia assessments at Memory Clinics across Australia
  • provide dementia screening of patients suitable for participation in clinical trials.
