Leading Alzheimer’s Lifestyle Prevention Study Seeks Volunteers

Research has illuminated the profound impact lifestyle adjustments can exert on brain function, potentially mitigating the risk of dementia. Your involvement is paramount in unravelling the mysteries of this debilitating disease and crafting an effective Lifestyle prevention program.

AU-ARROW, short for AUstralian multidomain Approach to Reduce dementia Risk by prOtecting brain health With lifestyle intervention study, seeks individuals who are:

• Aged between 55-79 years old
• Leading sedentary lifestyles with minimal physical activity
• Maintaining an average diet
• Showing normal memory and cognitive abilities
• Engaging in work or commitments totalling less than 30 hours per week

If you reside within easy commuting distance from our gym facilities in Perth (Carine, Nedlands, South Perth, Willagee, and Canning Vale) or Sydney (Chatswood, North Ryde, West Ryde, Hornsby, and Castle Hill), you could be an ideal candidate for participation.

What’s in store for you?
Over two years (with allowances for holidays), participants will attend informative sessions, undergo biannual blood tests and memory assessments, and receive a complimentary Fitbit tracker. Moreover, you’ll enjoy unrestricted access to exercise physiologists and dieticians – all at no cost to you! As part of the study, we’ll guide you towards adopting healthier lifestyle habits, including regular exercise. And if you’re assigned to the intervention group, brace yourself for a remarkable perk – a complimentary 2-YEAR GYM MEMBERSHIP throughout the study duration.
