Dr Samantha Gardener

Research Fellow in Neuroscience within the School of Medical and Health Sciences, Edith Cowan University.

Dr Gardener joined Professor Ralph Martins’ team in 2010, earning her PhD from Edith Cowan University in 2014 under Professor Martins’ supervision in Alzheimer’s disease and Nutrition.

Her primary research focus is investigating the effect of diet on Alzheimer’s disease risk, cognitive decline, and blood/brain biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease, along with the mechanisms underlying these relationships, and the development of dietary interventions to delay onset.

She also plays a key role in numerous research studies, including the AIBL Lifestyle stream, and is the Study Coordinator for the DIAN study, the TRACK D-CAA study, and the AU-ARROW Study.
