Dr Prita Riana Asih is a skilled neuroscientist with a focus on neurodegenerative diseases. She earned her Bachelor of Science with first class Honours in Biotechnology from Murdoch University in 2014, where she was awarded Best Student in Biotechnology. Her Honours research investigated the effects of translocator protein (TSPO) ligands on beta amyloid toxicity and steroid production.
Dr Asih went on to complete her PhD in Molecular Biology at UNSW in 2019, under the supervision of Prof Lars Ittner, researching TSPO’s role in Alzheimer’s disease and Frontotemporal Dementia mouse models. She also worked as a research assistant at KaRa Institute of Neurological Disease during her PhD.
